Azerbaijan's state energy company SOCAR has completed the negotiations with relevant authorities on the transfer of the infrastructure lines from the territory allotted to the company in Garadagh and Absheron regions for construction of Oil and Gas Processing Complex (OGPC).

"The designing process has already been carried out. Meanwhile, the transfer of communications started early this year," SOCAR said on June 5.

The process of transferring gas communications owned by Azerigaz Production Association were completed in May.

A medium pressure gas pipeline with a diameter of 150 millimeters was laid. The warning signs were installed on the pipeline every 500 meters with a length of 4,316 meters.

Currently, works are underway with other relevant organizations for transferring other lines.

The OGPC will be constructed by SOCAR. The project will cost $14.4 billion.

The capacity of the OGPC's oil refinery will amount to 8.5-9 million tons per year, and the capacity of the gas processing plant will be 12 billion cubic meters per year.

The capacity of the polyethylene production enterprise will stand at 800,000 tons, and the polypropylene production enterprise will be 300,000 tons per year.

The OGPC will be located 60 kilometers away from Baku and consist of three processing plants and a thermal power plant.

The first stage of the project will take about two years. The whole project will be accomplished in eight years.
