OSCE to promote Azerbaijan's tolerance

The OSCE intends to promote Azerbaijan's tolerance jointly with the Caucasian Muslim Office (CMO).

The news was announced at the meeting of CMO Head Allahshukur Pashazade with OSCE Project Coordinator in Baku Alexis Chahtahtinsky on June 12.

Pashazade informed Chahtahtinsky about the excellent government-religion relations, equal conditions created for all citizens regardless of their religious background as well as governmental care and attention to construction and restoration of religious monuments in Azerbaijan.

He also provided an insight into the activities and projects of the Caucasian Muslims Office implemented in Azerbaijan, Caucasus, as well as the CIS region.

Chahtahtinsky in turn said the OSCE has tolerance projects and noted that traditions of tolerance in Azerbaijan are very important for whole Europe. He added that they intend to hold joint events along with promoting this practice in the near future.

He expressed his confidence that such measures will be important in fighting against the growing trend of radicalization in the world.

The envoy stressed importance of promoting the practice of Azerbaijan that has historical traditions of tolerance and that is supporting the idea of multiculturalism at the state level, all over the world.

Chahtahtinsky then was presented a book reflecting activity of the Caucasian Muslims Office.
