Bulgaria's national holiday marked in Baku

Bulgarian embassy in Azerbaijan organized an official reception in honor of the national holiday of the country on March 3.

Addressing the event, Bulgarian Ambassador Maya Hristova spoke about the country's path of development, as well as the history of relations between Bulgaria and Azerbaijan, adding that these relations are developing.

Speaking about the successful cooperation within international organizations, the diplomat said mutual high-level visits contribute to the development of relations, and noted that the two countries are stepping confidently into the future.

Azerbaijan's Transport Minister Ziya Mammadov congratulated the Bulgarian people with significant day on behalf of President Ilham Aliyev, and conveyed the good wishes of the president.

Mammadov said, expanding every year, bilateral relations reached the level of strategic cooperation.

He said about 60 documents signed between the two countries created new opportunities for cooperation in the economic and cultural spheres, adding that Azerbaijan and Bulgaria successfully cooperate within international organizations.

The minister expressed confidence that the friendly relations between the two countries will be further strengthened.

The event was attended by the officials of state and government, MPs, ambassadors of foreign countries in Baku, as well as representatives of international organizations.

The diplomatic relations between Bulgaria and Azerbaijan were established in the June 1992. There are very close relations between the two countries. These relations have been established in the last ten years. Political, economic, scientific, technological and cultural relations are developing rapidly. The presidents of both countries have repeatedly declared their interest in the expansion of these relations.
