Turkish, Georgian FMs to visit Azerbaijan for trilateral meting

Foreign ministers of Turkey and Georgia will visit Azerbaijan to attend a trilateral meeting.

Turkish Ambassador to Azerbaijan Ismail Alper Joshgun told Trend Agency that Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu will visit Azerbaijan on February 19.

Joshgun said the visit considers participation in the meeting of foreign ministers of Azerbaijan, Georgia and Turkey, which will discuss issues of mutual cooperation.

Georgia's Foreign Minister Maya Panjikidze will also arrive in the country on February 19 to participate in the ministerial meeting.

The ministerial will be held in Ganja, which is the second largest city of Azerbaijan, and is located on the west of the country in 345 kilometers from Baku.

This will be the third meeting of the foreign ministers of Azerbaijan, Georgia and Turkey. The second ministerial meeting was held in March 2013 in Batumi.

The basics of the ministerial were laid on June 8, 2012 in the Turkish city of Trabzon, with signing of Trabzon declaration by the heads of foreign ministries of the three countries.

The Declaration reflects the most important directions of mutual cooperation of Azerbaijan, Georgia and Turkey in areas such as the economy, energy, infrastructure, transport, culture and humanitarian sphere.

The ministers of the three countries adopted an action plan of interagency cooperation for 2013-2015 in Batumi. The plan was developed by the relevant departments and includes specific projects and initiatives. The plan covers areas such as the economy, energy, environment, culture, education, sports and youth.
