President Aliyev holds several meetings

Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev met Montenegrin counterpart Filip Vujanovic on December 16.

Vujanovic visits the country to participate at the ceremony to sign final investment document on Shahdeniz-2 project.

The Montenegrin president congratulated the head of Azerbaijani state on his re-election as president of Azerbaijan.

The Azerbaijani leader also congratulated Filip Vujanovic on his re-election as Montenegrin president.

The sides noted bilateral bonds between the two countries had been developing successfully, stressing the importance of the joint projects.

The presidents also noted the significance of a ceremony to sign final investment document on Shah Deniz-2.

They also underlined the importance of this project for the countries and the region.

Later, President Aliyev received Georgia`s Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili.

They hailed development of the bilateral relations in political, economic and other fields, as well as noted the importance of global economic projects implemented jointly by Azerbaijan and Georgia.

They also stressed the significance of a ceremony to sign final investment document on Shahdeniz-2 in terms of expansion of the bilateral relationship.

President Aliyev and Premier Garibashvili also pointed out that the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway project was successfully implemented, and exchanged views on prospects for energy cooperation.

The sides expressed confidence that the friendly relations between the two countries would further be strengthened.

On the same day, President Aliyev met a Croatian delegation led by Prime Minister Zoran Milanovic.

Premier Milanovic praised the ongoing development processes in Azerbaijan.

They said there were ample opportunities to enhance the Azerbaijan-Croatia cooperation.

The sides stressed the importance of the activities of the Croatian companies in Azerbaijan in terms of expanding bonds between the two countries.

President Aliyev and Prime Minister Milanovic noted the significance of a ceremony to sign final investment document on Shahdeniz-2.

They also discussed how to develop the Azerbaijan-Croatia cooperation in a variety of fields, as well as the settlement of the Armenia-Azerbaijan Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.

The top foreign officials will take part in the ceremony of signing of the document on the second stage of Azerbaijani Shah Deniz field's development on December 17.

In late June the consortium for Azerbaijani Shah Deniz field's development chose the Trans Adriatic Pipeline (TAP) as a route to transport its gas to European markets. The gas which will be produced in the second stage of the Shah Deniz field development is considered as the main source for TAP.
