President Aliyev holds a number of meetings in Lithuania

Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev met with his French counterpart Francois Hollande as a part of his business trip to Vilnius, Lithuania on November 29.

The sides praised development of the Azerbaijan-France cooperation in the fields of politics, economy, energy and culture.

President Hollande said Azerbaijan`s economic achievements were followed with great interest in France.

The presidents noted that the French companies were successfully operating in Azerbaijan, expressing confidence they will expand their activities.

The two leaders noted there was mutual interest in expanding the bilateral ties between the two countries, and stressed the importance of developing the Azerbaijan-France cooperation within the European Union.

Presidents Aliyev and Hollande also discussed the Armenia-Azerbaijan Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, and other issues of mutual concern.

Later, President Aliyev met with Prime Minister of Spain Mariano Rajoy Brey in Vilnius.

Brey congratulated Ilham Aliyev on his reelection as Azerbaijani president, and wished him successes in his activities. The Premier also conveyed greetings of the King of Spain to President Aliyev.

They said there was good potential for expanding bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and Spain.

The Azerbaijani leader and the Spanish Premier noted the two countries were successfully cooperating within international organizations, including the UN.

President Aliyev and Premiere Brey widely discussed how to expand the bilateral ties in a variety of fields of economy, including business, construction, agriculture and energy.

They also stressed the importance of reciprocal visits, and discussed other issues of mutual concern.

The Head of State asked the premiere to pass on his greetings to the King of Spain.

Following, President Aliyev met with Prime Minister of Estonia Andrus Ansip.

They praised development of bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and Estonia.

The sides stressed the importance of the Visa Facilitation Agreement signed at the Vilnius Summit in terms of development of cooperation between Azerbaijan and the European Union.

President Aliyev and Premier Ansip said there were good prospects for the Azerbaijan-Estonia cooperation in the fields of tourism, agriculture and economy.

Azerbaijani President ended his working visit to Lithuania on November 29.
