Kuwait awards Heydar Aliyev Center's head

Kuwait Equestrian Federation awarded Director of the Heydar Aliyev Center with medals and plaquette of gratitude, the center said.
Anar Alekperov was awarded for organizing a riding competition in Kuwait.
The tournament was organized on the occasion of the 90th anniversary of Azerbaijani national leader Heydar Aliyev.
Some 147 athletes participated in the tournament, held on March 7, as part of a project by the Heydar Aliyev Center aimed at developing sports.
The competition was held in collaboration with the "Vatansever"
Friendship Society of Azerbaijanis living in Kuwait,
"Kuwait-Azerbaijan" company, and Azerbaijan's embassy in
Kuwait.
During the event, the guests viewed the photo stands reflecting
Heydar Aliyev's life and activities, and were presented with books
about the national leader in Arabic and English.
Anar Alekperov was appointed Director of the Heydar Aliyev Center by presidential order in July 2012.
The Center, which opened in the Azerbaijani capital on May 10, 2012 on the 89th birthday anniversary of National Leader Heydar Aliyev, was established in December 2006.
The complex was designed by Iraqi-British architect Zaha Hadid.
The Center houses a conference hall, a gallery hall, and a museum. The project is intended to play an integral role in the intellectual life of the city. Located close to the city center, the site plays a pivotal role in the redevelopment of Baku.
The Center holds exhibitions and concerts with the purpose of supporting the development of culture and introducing world culture to Azerbaijan, and tried to expand the relations between countries and people through its projects.
