Installation of new address signs starts in Baku

Work has started in Azerbaijan on address allocations according to the new rules and installation of address signs of the modern style around the country.
The work on new address allocation on real estate facilities in the cities and regions of the country was launched by the State Committee on Property Issues on January 1, the committee reported.
A database of addresses, which will be a single source of information to provide reliable address information in the country, was prepared before the work began.
The system will also reflect the geographic information and the exact coordinates of real estate. The problems related to the current address information were thoroughly analyzed and the advanced experience of other countries was studied in the frame of an international project.
The installation of new signs produced in line with the new regulations on the streets, avenues, squares and alleys of the capital city Baku started in April.
The installation of address signs on the buildings located on over 2,500 streets and avenues of Baku is planned to be completed by the year-end.
This work will also be carried out in the other regions and cities of the country in 2013.
New exact address allocation, preparation of a single address register and installation of modern address signs is being carried out under a state social project.
The creation of an address register will play an important role in defining the addresses of real estate in the country and in the regulation of the overall address system.
A centralized address database will be created, and the process of address allocation and real estate management will be simplified thanks to the new address register.
The address register will include not only information on the real estate and addresses, but also systematic information on the type of facilities, their owners, current and previous addresses.
The database of the address register will simplify the distribution of information to the users and electronic exchange with the other e-registers in Azerbaijan. All the state bodies connected to the e-government portal will be able to use the register.
