The Ambassador of Turkey to Azerbaijan, Ismail Alper Joshgun, visited the Baku High Oil School (BHOS) on Thursday, the educational institution told Trend news agency.

BHOS principal Elmar Gasimov informed the ambassador about the path traversed by the Azerbaijani State Oil Company SOCAR in recent years and provided detailed information on projects implemented in Azerbaijan and abroad.

He mentioned that the BHOS, with the status of a public institution under SOCAR, was established by a decree of President Ilham Aliyev in November 2011.

Gasimov noted that the BHOS, where the learning process is organized in accordance with the latest standards, has established a close partnership with the British University Heriot-Watt, thus providing school graduates with two diplomas.

Gasimov said the school accepts students showing the best results and stressed that in the nearest future, its new campus will meet the highest of standards.

Ambassador Joshgun, in turn, said Azerbaijan and Turkey are not only friendly and brotherly countries, but also the closest allies in all areas.

It was noted that the establishment of the oil school meets all international standards for the development of Azerbaijan which is an encouraging fact. It was also stressed that it is necessary for the BHOS to start cooperation on educational projects with a number of technical universities in Turkey.

In conclusion, the ambassador was granted a "Guest of Honor" Diploma from the BHOS.
