Azeri, Ukrainian defense ministries sign coop plan for 2013

A plan of bilateral cooperation between the defense ministries of Azerbaijan and Ukraine was signed on Monday at the meeting of Azerbaijani Defense Minister Safar Abiyev with Ukrainian Defense Minister Dmitriy Salamatin, the Azerbaijani Defense Ministry reported.

Abiyev, addressing the development of relations between Azerbaijan and Ukraine in various fields, said that this cooperation has been developing in the military and the industrial complex in recent years.

The sides exchanged views on the military and political situation in the region. Abiyev noted that Nagorno-Karabakh conflict is still not resolved as a result of the aggressive policy of Armenia.

He added that the OSCE Minsk Group brokering the settlement of the conflict also did not produce any results.

Azerbaijan can not allow the continuation of the occupation, Abiyev said.

He noted that if the conflict is not resolved peacefully, the lands will be liberated by other means.
