Visa procedures for foreigners and stateless persons arriving in Azerbaijan are being simplified in connection with the 74th International Astronautical Congress to be held in Baku.

President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev signed a relevant decree in this regard.

According to the document, foreigners and stateless individuals arriving in Azerbaijan due to the 74th International Astronautical Congress and presenting any of the documents mentioned in section 2 of this decree can obtain a visa at Azerbaijan's international airports from September 20 to October 7, 2023.

One of the following documents will be considered a basis for visa issuance:

- A document confirming registration through the electronic system in accordance with the rules of the 74th International Astronautical Congress organizer - the International Astronautical Federation.

- An official invitation letter to the congress from the "Azerbaijan National Space Agency (Azercosmos)" public legal entity under the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport of Azerbaijan.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan should inform the International Astronautical Federation and the relevant authorities of foreign countries about the simplification of visa procedures for foreigners and stateless persons arriving in Azerbaijan due to the congress.

In addition to this, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs must also ensure the spread of information about the simplification of visa procedures for foreigners and stateless persons arriving in Azerbaijan due to the congress, as well as the possibility of obtaining electronic visas through the "ASAN Visa" system for foreigners and stateless individuals through the ministry's informational internet resources, as well as Azerbaijan's embassies and consulates abroad.

The State Migration Service of Azerbaijan has been instructed to inform airlines operating flights to Azerbaijan about the simplification of visa procedures for foreigners and stateless persons arriving in Baku due to the International Astronautical Congress.

The 74th International Astronautical Congress under the theme "Global Challenges and Opportunities: Give Space a Chance" will be held in the Azerbaijani capital, organized by the Azerbaijan Space Agency, on October 2-6, 2023.
