Azerbaijan’s State Migration Service and the State Agency for Public Service and Social Innovations under the President of Azerbaijan signed a memorandum of understanding on registration of foreigners and stateless persons in the ASAN Service Centers on May 17.

The Memorandum was signed by Head of the State Migration Service Vusal Huseynov and Chairman of the State Agency for Public Service and Social Innovations Ulvi Mehdiyev.

From now on, registration of foreigners and stateless persons in the place of residence will be carried out at the ASAN Service Centers of Baku and Sumgayit in parallel with the regional migration offices.

According to the memorandum, the State Migration Service will ensure that the above-mentioned persons who have been temporarily staying in the country for more than ten days are received at the centers of the ASAN Service, and the State Agency undertakes to create favorable conditions for the implementation of this service on the basis of applications of innovations and high standards.

Foreigners can be registered for the period provided in their visas or for 90 days under the visa-free regime. After changing the place of residence, the registration must be renewed. These steps can exempt visitors from penalties and deportation.

Thus, in the process of registration at the place of residence, transparency and comfort will be ensured, possible queues will be prevented, and opportunities for citizens' applications will be expanded.

The registration requires an application form, a copy of ID of a foreigner or a stateless person, including the page of the visa and the page where the last entry to Azerbaijan is indicated.

The registration of foreigners or stateless persons at the place of residence is also possible at https://www.migration.gov.az/ , https://www.e-gov.az/en and via [email protected]

Foreigners and stateless persons arriving in Azerbaijan for a period exceeding 10 days should register at the Migration Service. According to Article 21 of the Migration Code, foreigners and stateless persons wishing to stay in Azerbaijan for more than ten days must register at the place of residence.

Huseynov said that daily 1,500 foreigners and stateless persons apply to the Azerbaijani Migration Service for registration at the place of their stay in Azerbaijan. He said 50-60 percent of foreigners and stateless persons present their applications in electronic form.
