Baku to host 2nd International Culinary Championships

The 2nd International Culinary Championship will be held in Baku on April 21-25 , 2014.

According to President of the National Culinary Association Tahir Amiraslanov, unlike the first championship in which cooks from 16 countries participated, this festival will involve well-known masters from 40 countries.

It was also noted that various participant countries will hold master classes within the international festival which will be held with the support of the Azerbaijani Ministry of Culture and Tourism.

The first international festival held on October 7-10, 2009 was dedicated to Islamic cuisine. The teams from Belarus, the Philippines, Georgia, Iran, Island, Canada, Nigeria, Uzbekistan, Russia, Serbia, Turkey, Ukraine, Greece and other countries participated in the festival.

The Turkish team was awarded with the festival cup. Totally, 44 medals were won.

Azerbaijan was awarded 11 gold medals, Turkey- 8, Belarus-5, Serbia-5, Iran-4, Ukraine-3 and Russia -2 gold medals. The rest of the countries were awarded with silver and bronze medals.
