Azerbaijani paintings presented in Geneva

An art exhibition on urban landscapes in the paintings of modern European artists opened in the United Nations Office in Geneva on May 6.
The Office's Director-General Kassym-Jomart Tokayev said at the event that Azerbaijani culture is an integral part of European culture and arts. Tokayev thanked Murad Nejefbeyli, Ambassador of Azerbaijan at the UN Office in Geneva, for participation in the exhibition.
The art exhibition called "Urban landscapes in modern European paintings" of the artists from the European Council countries includes works by Azerbaijani artists Elshan Sarkanoglu and Gulare Majidova. "Between morning and night" and "Afternoon in Old City" paintings represent Azerbaijan at the exhibition, which will last until May 24.
The show displays works by artists from Andorra, Austria, Estonia, Georgia, Germany, Italy, Lithuania, Portugal, Moldova, Romania, Russia, Slovenia and Switzerland.
