Azerbaijan plans to increase ICT revenues

Azerbaijan plans to increase revenues of the Information and Communications Technologies sector.
Revenues of the ICT sector in 2019 are expected to increase by 33.5 percent and exceed 2.12 billion manats.
The share of income from this sector in the country's GDP is projected at 1.8 percent or 1041.8 million manats in 2014.
This figure is expected to reach 1.9 percent or 1144.0 million manats in 2015, two percent 1247.8 million manats in 2016, two percent or 1317.2 million manat in 2017 and in 2018 - 1.9 percent which is 1390.6 million manats.
Dynamic growth of the market in the next years will be as follows: in 2015, the growth is projected at 9.8 percent, in 2016 at 19.8 percent, and 26.4 percent in 2017.
The real annual growth rate in the next four years is projected at 2-2.3 percent.
The volume of rendered information and communication services is projected at 1591.6 million manats in Azerbaijan in 2014, which is 3.3 percent higher than the same period of 2013.
Over the past five years, the information technology sector of Azerbaijan has doubled. As figures show, revenues of the ICT sector in Azerbaijan increased by more than 12 percent in the nine months of 2014.
The total investment made in the development of information, communication and mail sector amounted to 62.5 million manats or 0.8 percent of the total investment in the country's economy in the first half of 2014.
Last year the country invested about 202.2 million manats (over $257 million) in the ICT sector and postal services. Investment in the development of the ICT sector in Azerbaijan is expected to reach $4 billion by 2020.
