Azerbaijan to invest in Fiber to Home project

Azerbaijan`s Ministry of Communications and Information
Technologies will invest 103.6 million manats in Fiber to Home
project aimed at building a fiber network for providing high-speed
broadband internet services to the population in 2013.
Communications and Information Technologies Minister Ali Abbasov
said from 2014 the cost of the project would be paid through
reinvestment.
"Our main goal is to provide all regions of the country, including
remote villages with high speed internet (10-100 Mbit/s), and bring
the number of Internet users to 85% of the population."
"This will help Azerbaijan to reach in 2017 the level of developed
countries in terms of the number of Internet users," Abbasov
