Azerbaijan to create e-database of property by 2020

The information about 3.5 million hectares of land areas has not yet been included in the electronic cadastre database of Azerbaijan.
This was said by Ramiz Guliyev, the head of the service of cadastre and address register of immovable property under the Azerbaijani State Committee on Property Issues, at a ceremony on the completion of the pilot project in the Shaki region on December 2.
Guliyev said the pilot project in Shaki was successful and cadastral works were carried out on an area of about 240,000 hectares within the project.
“Thus, we have completed all cadastral works in Baku, Sumgayit, Ganja and Shaki since 2009. To date, we need to conduct cadastral works on an area of 3.5 million hectares,” said Guliyev.
A total of 3.2 million hectares of these lands are agricultural lands and the remaining 0.3 million hectares are residential areas.
The head of the service informed that works on creation of electronic cadastral database on real estate throughout Azerbaijan will be completed by the end of 2019.
The Board of Directors of the World Bank has approved a loan worth $30 million to Azerbaijan for the project “Cadastre and registration of real estate” in March 2007. The aim of the project is to provide reliable, transparent and effective system of registration of real estate. The share of the Azerbaijani government in the project was $8 million.
The project was completed in April 2016. It consisted of four components: registration of real estate, which will provide more efficient services to clients in the registration of property rights and the use of automated systems and online services; improvement in the management of state property; usage of geodetic innovations; conducting of trainings.
