Azerbaijani sportsmen monument unveiled in Belgium

A monument, dedicated to the participation of Azerbaijani athletes in European Special Olympic Games on summer sports has been unveiled in Lommel, Belgium.
Youth and Sport Minister Azad Rahimov, Mayor of Lommel city Peter Vanvelthoven and Azerbaijani ambassador to Belgium and Luxemburg Fuad Iskenderov attended the opening ceremony.
After the official part of the event, the participants got
acquainted with a photo stand, devoted to sport development in
Azerbaijan. Then, the chamber orchestra of young musicians of Baku
Music Academy under the name of Uzeir Hajibeyov gave a short
concert.
The orchestra also performed a great program in the Museum of
Musical Instruments in Brussels.
The concert was dedicated to the first European games, to be held in Azerbaijan in 2015.
The event was co-organized by the Azerbaijan Embassy and the Youth and Sport Ministry.
