Azerbaijan has shortage of stock market instruments, says AzFinance

Shortage of stock market instruments is observed in Azerbaijan, Abid Mammadov, director of AzFinance Investment Company, told reporters in Baku on December 21.
Mammadov said that the coming of such companies as METAK and Unibank to the market will allow expanding the range of these instruments.
“This creates for us a base of instruments that we can sell to customers,” Mammadov said. “If there are no instruments, we will have nothing to sell.”
He added that presently there is great need for stocks and bonds in the market.
“Private customers should become active,” he said. “They may follow the example of Azerbaijan’s state oil company SOCAR, which issued US dollar bonds that any citizen of the country can buy.”
