Armenian militaries keep breaching ceasefire with Azerbaijan
The situation on the contact line between Azerbaijan and Armenia has remained tense as the Armenian Armed Forces shattered ceasefire a total of 112 times throughout the day, Azerbaijan`s Defense Ministry reported.
Armenian armed forces, located in Armenia's Paravakar villages and nameless hills of Ijevan region, Mosesgekh village of Berd region subjected to fire the positions of Azerbaijani armed forces located in nameless hills of Gazakh region, Kohnagishlag village of Agstafa region, Alibayli village of Tovuz region.
The ceasefire was violated in Talish, Gulustan villages in Goranboy region, Goyarkh, Chilaburt, Yarimja villages in Tartar region, Shikhlar, Bash Garvand, Novruzlu, Kangarli, Sarijali, Shuraabad villages in Aghdam region, Kuropatkino village in Khojavand region, Horadiz, Garakhanbayli, Gorgan, Ashagi Seyidahmadli villages in Fuzuli region, Mehdili village of Jabrayil region, as well as nameless hills in Goygol, Goranboy, Khojavand, Fuzuli and Jabrayil regions.
Azerbaijani armed forces carried out 113 strikes on enemy positions in view of the operational situation.
The Nagorno-Karabakh conflict began in 1988 after Armenia made territorial claims against Azerbaijan and, in 1992, occupied 20 percent of Azerbaijan, including the Nagorno-Karabakh region and seven surrounding districts.
The two countries signed a ceasefire agreement in 1994. The co-chairs of the OSCE Minsk Group, Russia, France and the US are currently holding peace negotiations. Armenia hasn’t yet implemented the UN Security Council’s four resolutions on its withdrawal from Nagorno-Karabakh and the surrounding districts.
