Azerbaijani wrestler becomes world champion
Azerbaijani wrestler Nurmahammad Hajiyev (96 kg) grabbed a gold medal in the UWW Junior World Championships in Salvador, Brazil.
On the way to the final, he beat Russian, Finnish, Kazakhstani and Iranian rivals.
Azerbaijani wrestler Arif Huseynov (50 kg) secured the bronze medal after beating an Armenian rival 4-2.
Another Azerbaijani wrestler Jahid Hasanzade (60 kg) ranked 5th. He beat his Armenian, Ukrainian and Belarusian rivals, but lost to Iranian athlete in the semifinal. His attempts to win the bronze also failed as he lost to Russian opponent.
