Azerbaijan comes third at 2017 World Judo Championship

The 2017 World Judo Championship is underway in Budapest, Hungary.
More than 700 judo fighters from 39 countries compete in the tournament. Azerbaijan’s squad includes 17 judo fighters, including 9 men and 8 women.
After three days of competition, the national judo team is ranked third in the overall standing, azerisport.com reported.
The silver medals came from Rustam Orujov and Hidayat Heydarov.
So far, Azerbaijan is ahead of Russia, South Korea, Israel, Georgia, Uzbekistan, France and many other countries.
The championship leaders are athletes from Japan (5-2-1) and Mongolia (1-1-2).
Another Azerbaijani judoka will join the fight today.
Gulsadaf Karimova, joining 1/32 finals will face Anriquelis Barrios from Venezuela. The first matches will start at 12:00 Baku time.
The 2017 World Judo Championship will last until September 3.
