Israel's Peres meeting with Putin
Israeli President Shimon Peres is due to hold talks in Moscow
onThursday with Russian President Vladimir Putin, Radio Liberty
reported.
The Kremlin said the talks are expected to focus on the situation
in the Middle East, including the Syrian conflict, as well as
Israeli-Russian cooperation in the energy, space, and agricultural
spheres.
The Kremlin said trade and investment cooperation between the
countries has not yet reached its potential.
According to the Kremlin, in 2011 mutual trade turnover was $2.86
billion, while through August of this year it was $1.8 billion.
In comments on Wednesday, Peres urged cooperation between Russia
and the United States, saying Russia-U.S. cooperation was crucial
to global stability.
Peres's visit was to include attending the opening of the
Russian-Jewish Museum of Tolerance in Moscow.
