Number of young scholars increases in Azerbaijan
President of the of Azerbaijani National Academy of Sciences (ANAS) Akif Alizadeh said that the number of young PhDs is increasing in Azerbaijan each year.
"Azerbaijani youth has a strong interest in science in recent years. After the adoption of the law 'On Education' in the country, over 1000 young people entered doctoral studies in ANAS," he told local media.
Alizadeh believes that Azerbaijan has every condition to turn the country into a regional scientific centre.
"Azerbaijani scientists intend to turn the country into a regional and research centre, " Alizadeh said.
He also stressed that currently a new period of reforms based on realities of the modern world has begun in ANAS.
