U.S Independence Day picnic held in Baku
The American Chamber of Commerce in Azerbaijan (AmCham) in Baku hosted a tremendous 18th Annual Independence Day Picnic in Ramada Hotel on July 6.
According to the AmCham report, the official opening started with welcome of Vice Presidents of American Chamber of Commerce in Azerbaijan Teyba Gouliyeva (Societe Generale) and Mark Thomas (BP), followed by Azerbaijan and U.S.A National Anthems, US Marine Color Guard a welcome address of US Ambassador to Azerbaijan Richard Morningstar.
Vugar Sadig, Director of Corporate and Commercial Banking Department in PASHA Bank, the main sponsor of the 18th Annual Independence Day Picnic welcomed the guests in his speech and Nargiz Nasrullayeva Muduorglu-the Executive Director of American Chamber of Commerce in Azerbaijan announced the official opening of the 18th Annual Independence Day Picnic.
Addressing the event, Ambassador of United States in Azerbaijan Richard Morningstar after establishment of American Chamber Commerce in Azerbaijan the level of cooperation among businesses in United States of America and Azerbaijan Republic has enhanced and the business environment had ameliorated with respect of the highest ethical standards and governmental rules and regulations.
Later, guests enjoyed the kids club, various games and competitions, dance classes, and a pie eating contest.
The highlight of the event was AmCham's Got Talent Show. The participants of the show Turab Teymurov from AmCham, Kent McNelley CEO of Azerfon, Azercell Team, Nigar Hasanzade from Aquavita the winners of the show: Teyba Gouliyeva from Societe Generale and Mark Thomas from BP who performed Eurovision 2010 Denmark: Chanée & N'evergreen - In a Moment Like This.
The raffle draw started right after the show and the main prize was trip to Paris for two people for 5 nights in a 5 star hotel graciously donated by PASHA Travel. Lanterns sponsored by PASHA Bank were launched to the sky by guests and created an amazing view spreading to the whole city. The evening finished by fireworks and night started with DISCO continuing till the dawn.
