Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov met with Hungarian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Peter Szijjarto during the seventh meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Turkic Council in Baku, Trend reports on Oct. 14 referring to the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry.
The ministers expressed gratification with the cooperation between the two countries and emphasized the prospects for its further expansion in the field of economy and trade.
Hungary’s observer status in the Turkic Council and the recent opening of the representative office of the Cooperation Council of Turkic Speaking States in Budapest will further strengthen the ties between Hungary and the Turkic Speaking States.
Then Mammadyarov answered the colleagues’ questions on the current negotiations on a new agreement between the EU and Azerbaijan.
The parties also exchanged the views on regional issues of mutual interest, in particular, on the Syrian conflict.
