Azerbaijan preparing for population census - State Statistics Committee

Population census will be held in Azerbaijan in October next year, Chairman of Azerbaijan’s State Statistics Committee Tahir Budagov said Oct. 26 at the Baku Forum on Sustainable Development, held as part of the VI Baku International Humanitarian Forum.
He said that preparatory work is underway.
Budagov noted that on October 1-10 this year, a test population census was held in Gabala district.
“The information obtained in this district is being processed, and at the same time, software is being tested,” he said.
Earlier, President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev signed a decree on holding the next population census on October 1-10, 2019.
The preparatory work, the census itself, the processing and publication of the results will be carried out by Azerbaijan’s State Statistics Committee.
