Azerbaijan TPP cuts power generation

Azerbaijan Thermal Power Plant (TPP) generated 1.35 billion kilowatt / hours of electricity in January-February, 2014, compared to about 1.6 billion kilowatt / hours in the same period last year, Azerenergy, production and distribution of electricity in Azerbaijan reported on March 11.

Azerbaijan TPP is the most powerful energy company in the South Caucasus region and generates most of the electricity produced in the country.

Azerbaijan TPP produced about 652.3 million kilowatt / hours of electricity in February, compared to about 753 million kilowatt / hours last February, the report noted.

The Azerbaijan TPP generated over 7.6 billion kilowatt / hours of electricity in 2013.

The capacity of power stations owned by Azerenergy exceeds 6500 megawatts. It has over 200 substations with a capacity of 500, 330, 220 and 110 kilovolt amperes, as well as eight hydro power stations and 13 thermo power stations.
