CATEF exhibition to attract new technologies to Azerbaijan

Azerbaijan's water operator Azersu is working on the development and reconstruction of water supply and sewage systems in the capital, 38 regional centres and more than 350 villages of the country, the head of Azersu, Gorkhmaz Huseynov, said during his speech at the opening of Caspian International Exhibition CATEF 2013 in Baku on Thursday.

"The dynamic development of the country has also affected the water supply sector. We are working in many parts of the country. The main purpose of our work is to provide a continuous water supply for the entire population of the country 24 hours a day," Huseynov said.

According to him, the company is actively studying the latest research results in the field of water supply, new technologies and high quality materials for their use in Azerbaijan in the future.

"Such exhibitions are very useful for viewing new technologies and techniques. Moreover, this exhibition will allow us to find new partners," Huseynov said.

The Caspian Aqua Technologies Exhibition and Forum CATEF 2013, which is the only event in the Caspian region for presenting the latest achievements in water technologies, was organized at the initiative and with the support of Azersu. Organizational partner is Iteca Caspian LLC.

At least 79 companies from 23 countries are offering their services in the following areas: water supply: waste and storm water cleaning, micro tunnelling, measuring and control technologies for analysis of water, pumps, pumping systems, protection of drinking water sources, construction machinery and equipment, drilling rigs, information and communication technologies, geothermal technologies, seawater desalination technologies and other products, technologies and services.

Over 50 per cent of the participants are foreign companies including Awas (Germany), DOW (USA), Duktus (Austria), Ekoton (Russia), Grundfos (Denmark), Herrenknecht AG (Germany), Hyundai (South Korea), Hungarian Water Cluster (Hungary), Krohne (Germany), Nippon Koei (Japan), Nordic Water-EMO (Switzerland), PWT (Germany), Samsun Makina (Turkish), Suez Environment (France) and Xylem (Sweden). Local participating companies are Akkord Azerbaijan and Sumgait Technology Park.
