Domestic gas price doubles
Azerbaijan`s pricing regulator has doubled prices
for gas sold to consumers. The Tariff Council resolved Tuesday that
domestic households will pay 100 manats ($125) per 1,000 cubic
meters of gas instead of the previous 47.2 manats.
The council discussed a query from the state-run gas supplier Azerigas on reconsidering the gas price. The increase aims to prevent squandering, ensure reliable supplies of quality gas to the population and is being enforced given that the current price does not cover the costs incurred by the utility.
