A total of 73 state enterprises and facilities will be put up for privatization auction on November 15 by the Azerbaijani State Committee on Property Issues.

The Committee reported on October 17 that these enterprises, located both in Baku and in other regions of the country, operate in the spheres of cotton growing, agricultural chemistry, transport, construction and other fields.

Moreover, some 51 small state enterprises and facilities, including non-residential lands of 10-1,700 square-meters, will be put up for privatization. The price of these facilities ranges from 3,000 to 2.7 million manats (from $1,866 to $1.68 million).

The auction will be held in the auction Centre of the State Committee on Property Issues.

The portal for privatization – privatization.az, launched in July 2016, reflects all necessary information about the facilities, their addresses, location, and even initial cost and aimed at facilitation of the process. The website is available in two languages - Azerbaijani and English.

The privatization process is designed to attract both foreign and local investors, as well as improve the business environment of Azerbaijan. “Why Azerbaijan is special” section available on the website explains the reasons and advantages of investing in the country.

In general, over 1,000 different public facilities were privatized in Azerbaijan in 2015.
