Azerbaijanis to join int’l breakdance championship Red Bull BC One

Baku will host the next elimination stage of the most prestigious international break dance championship Red Bull BC One on April 19.

Sixteen young talented energetic B-Boys of the country will battle for the title of the best demonstrating their own style of breakdance at the battles in unique one-on-one format.

The winner will represent the country on Red Bull BC One Eastern European Qualifier, which will be held in Croatia and will gain a real chance to get to World Final in Paris in late November.

The Battles will comment MC Samori from Ukraine and musical score will be provided by DJ Twist, one of the best DJ's of the country.

Red Bull BC One championship, founded in 2004 in Switzerland, has moved from Germany to Brazil, South Africa, France, the U.S, Japan, Russia and South Korea over the years. Azerbaijan joined the championship since 2011.

Today this championship remains a key event in Hip Hop culture, helping to push the art form forward while respecting the original format of one-on-one battles.

Throughout the year, the Red Bull BC One Cyphers will be searching out the best B-Boys far and wide to earn a spot in the World Final. Sixteen B-Boys will go head to head in each country in knockout battles to represent their nation at one of six Finals, which will be held this year in the USA, Brazil, Algeria, Finland, Croatia and Taiwan.

The Finals champions will go on to compete on France's stage in November.

The project is supported by the Azerbaijani Youth and Sports Ministry.
