Azerbaijani triathlete ranked 17th in ITU world rankings

Azerbaijani athlete Rostyslav Pevtsov retained his 17th position in the world rankings of the International Triathlon Union (ITU).

He now has 3209.77 points, Azertac reported.

Spanish Mario Mola tops the rankings with 7014.70 points.

Rostyslav Pevtsov competed in the men's event at the 2016 Summer Olympics, but failed to win a medal of the Rio Games.

Triathlon is a multiple-stage competition involving the completion of three continuous and sequential endurance disciplines, with the most popular form involving swimming, cycling, and running in immediate succession over various distances.

The Azerbaijan Triathlon Federation was established in 2013. Currently it is being affiliated with both World Triathlon Union and European Triathlon Union on the basis of official appeal of the National Olympic Committee.
