Security tight in Turkey over Novruz holiday
Turkey has strengthened its security measures on the occasion of the Novruz holiday, Interior Minister Muammer Guler was quoted as saying on Tuesday by TRT Haber TV channel.
According to the report, security measures in particular have been strengthened in Istanbul, Ankara and the eastern provinces of the country because the extremist organisations may use the celebrations to create mass riots.
Each year, supporters of the terrorist Kurdistan Workers' Party use the holiday to hold mass riots in the largest cities of the country.
