Siemens may supply locos to Uzbekistan, build synthetic liquid fuel plant

Siemens can implement a number of projects in the energy, industrial, transport and other sectors of Uzbekistan, the press service of Uzbekneftegaz said.

According to the information, on Oct. 29-31 a Siemens delegation headed by President of the company in Russia and Central Asia Alexander Liberov visited Uzbekistan.

The German company held meeting with Uzbekneftegaz dedicated to cooperation in the fuel and energy industry, further technological partnership and construction of a plant for the production of synthetic liquid fuel in the Kashkadarya region of Uzbekistan.

Tech solutions of Siemens can also be used in the expansion project of the Shurtan gas and chemical complex.

Siemens also held talks with representatives of Uzbekenergo. The sides discussed the company's participation in the expansion project of the Talimarjan thermal power plant (TPP), the Tashkent TPP, the modernization of the Syrdarya TPP, the possibility of using Siemens Smart Grid technologies in the country's power sector.

During the meeting with the Uzbekistan Railways, the two companies touched upon cooperation in the supply of locomotives, automation of railway tracks, as well as a project to automate sorting stations.

In Nov. 2017, Siemens and Uzbekistan announced the start of a large-scale cooperation program. Agreements were signed on technology partnership in the fuel and energy complex, the digitalization of urban infrastructure and the health care.
