Azerbaijan will apply a new tariff for an expertise on determining
the source country of exported oil, effective from May 1, 2013.
The country's price regulator, Tariff Council, said that the cost of the examination will depend not on the volume of production as it is now, but it will be conducted at a stable price with a view to obtain a certificate.
The cost of providing an examination will be 2,300 manats (over $2,900) regardless of the volume of exported oil.
According to the current tariff, which was set on November 24, 2011, the cost of the expertise of one ton of oil makes up 0.04 manats.
The fees for the export of other energy resources remain unchanged. The cost of the examination per ton of oil products is 0.10 manats, while that for one million cubic meters of natural gas is 280 manats and one million kilowatt/hour of electric power 225 manats.
The official exchange rate as of April 27 is 0.7846 manats (AZN)/USD.
The Tariff Council is the executive body implementing the state regulation of prices (tariffs), service fees, etc.
The tariffs regulated by the Tariff Council are applied to products (commodities, works and services) of natural monopoly, government monopoly, and monopolistic entities, as well as other goods and services whose tariffs are subject to state regulation under Azerbaijan's legislation.
