Defense minister visits new naval base

Azerbaijan's Defense Minister Zakir Hasanov and First Deputy Minister, Chief of General Staff of the Armed Forces Colonel-General Nejmeddin Sadigov visited the new naval base under construction, the Ministry said.
They examined construction sites at the base being established in accordance with the orders and instructions of President Ilham Aliyev.
Hasanov gave instructions for completing the construction headquarters, dormitories, medical center, dining and residential complex, residential buildings for the servicemen and their families, as well as to accelerate other construction works at the naval base.
The defense minister also recently visited military bases in the north of the country.
Hasanov examined all the facilities and met with the soldiers and officers.
Hasanov got acquainted with combat readiness of the military units on the front line, capabilities of modern armored vehicles, level of organization and conduct of combat duty, as well as morale and psychological state of the servicemen.
He gave instructions on strengthening the combat readiness and discipline, strict observance of safety rules, improvement of the living conditions of military personnel, as well as the continuation of construction works in the military installations.
