Azerbaijani president receives U.S. delegation
President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev received Deputy Assistant Secretary of State in the Bureau of Democracy, Human Rights and Labor at the United States Department of State, Thomas Melia and his accompanying delegation on Monday, AzerTac state news agency reported.
Melia introduced to President Aliyev members of the delegation, who started their visit to the region from Azerbaijan. They said the purpose of their visit to Azerbaijan is to exchange views on definition of new directions of partner relations with regional countries.
Paige Alexander, assistant administrator of the Bureau for Europe and Eurasia of the U.S. Agency for International Development said the organization that she represents would further continue social and humanitarian projects in Azerbaijan.
President Aliyev said relationship between Azerbaijan and the
United States was developing successfully. The Head of State noted
that good opportunities exist to expand cooperation between
Azerbaijan and the U.S. in all spheres, including political,
economic, security fields.
President Aliyev expressed confidence the visit of the U.S.
delegation to Azerbaijan would contribute to developing bilateral
relationship even further.
