The capital of Siberia has hosted a grand musical competition, which was attended by 105 participants from 23 countries.
The Novosibirsk State Concert Hall named after Arnold Katz saw the closing of the most prestigious competitions among musicians under 17, in which Laman Asadova, a 15-year-old participant from Azerbaijan, was awarded special "Hope" diploma.
Laman performed "Caprice" by Henryk Wieniawski, "Waltz Scherzo" by Tchaikovsky and Bach’s works. Members of the jury highly appreciated the skill of the Azerbaijani contestant and decided to grant her the right to participate in the next Youth Tchaikovsky competition without preliminary selection. Laman was previously been invited to the next contest as "a singer with great potential."
Laman’s teacher Mina Aslanova said that the level of participants was very high, adding that the high competition gives the artist opportunity to enrich skills. Laman has already begun to prepare for the next contest.
In her endeavor Laman is supported by Azerbaijan’s Education Ministry, as well as the Culture and Tourism Ministry and the Heydar Aliyev Foundation.
"The success of Laman Asadova demonstrates the attention paid by Russia and Azerbaijan to talented children,” said Head of Azerbaijan-Russia parliamentary friendship group Dmitry Savelyev. “It is nice to admit that both of our countries recognize the importance of a serious approach to the education of the younger generation and in every way promote the development of the creative potential of its young citizens,” he said.
The jury also awared 20 young performers from Russia, Korea, the USA and Belarus.
