An exhibition titled "The world of fairy tales in Italy" co-organized by the Azerbaijan State Art Academy and VIVA BELLA company was opened in Baku on Monday.
The opening ceremony saw speeches by rector of the Azerbaijan State Art Academy Omar Eldarov, Professor Valida Mammadova and representative of VIVA BELLA Company Lala Garayeva.
According to the Academy, Montedragone collection of porcelain dolls and flowers will be put on display at the exhibition which will mark the international Women`s Day.
Created by Stefania Rossetti in Italy, Montedragone collection includes over 200 dolls, elves, fairies, gnomes, sprites, and witches. All have articulated joints, and some also have articulated elbows and knees. The body is air-brushed while the faces are hand painted. The dolls clothing is hand-made using designer fabrics, such as lace, silk, velvet, brocade, wool and cotton, and accented with flowers, leaves, berries, woven trim work, wooden beads, and tiny bells.
