Azerbaijan ups import of mobile phones
The volume of mobile phone import to Azerbaijan in the first three quarters of 2012 totaled 114,277 units worth over $5.591 million, the State Statistics Committee told Trend news agency.
According to the committee, the number of mobile phones imported into the country increased by 11 percent (102,869 units were imported last year) compared to January-September 2011, while in value terms, this figure reduced by 9.4 percent.
More than 10,000-12,000 mobile phones are imported into the country monthly. Monthly volume of the mobile phone market in value terms is $500,000-600,000.
The official exchange rate is 0.7850 AZN/USD on Nov. 13.
