SOCAR named best company in Georgia

Azerbaijan's state energy company SOCAR was named
the best business company in Georgia. The award ceremony was held
on May 30 in Tbilisi.
The Georgian Times media holding and the Association of Public Opinion and Marketing Researches (GORBI) named the top 25 companies in the business ranking of the year.
SOCAR representative in Georgia Mahir Mammadov expressed his gratitude to the organizers of the award ceremony and spoke about SOCAR's successfull participation in such contests since 2006.
"Our company's work is aimed at the business development. However we implement many social projects and support Georgia's sport and culture, which proves that our work is multilateral," Mammadov said.
President of the media holding Malkhaz Gulashvili said that jury chose only 25 companies for awards among the 50 initially selected one.
He said the rating included companies transferring one and over one million lari to the country's budget.
The top 10 largest companies of Georgia are also included Toyota
Caucasus, San Petroleum Georgia (Gulf), Wissol Petroleum Georgia,
Georgian Railway, Lukoil Georgia, Georgian Manganez, Rustavi Azot,
British Petroleum and Toyota Center Tbilisi.
SOCAR Georgia Petroleum, Ltd is the single largest importer of
petrol and diesel in Georgia. It imports up to 35,000 tons of oil
products from Azerbaijan each month. The company is expanding
rapidly by increasing its network of petrol stations around the
country. SGP's strategic development plan includes construction of
petroleum storage depots using modern technologies and develop its
network of petrol stations up to 120.
