Kyrgyzneftegaz suspected of concealing report on deal with Petrofac

Kyrgyzneftegaz is suspected of concealing a report on the deal with the British company Petrofac and causing damages to the state worth more than 22 million soums, KirTAG news agency said on Thursday referring to the press service of the State Service for Combating Economic Crimes under the Kyrgyz government (SSCEC),Trend news agency reported.

"During an operational search conducted by SSCEC employees in the Jalal-Abad region, it was ascertained that Kyrgyzneftegaz JSC failed to provide timely reports to tax authorities on transaction with Petrofac. Thus, the company caused damage to the state through tax evasion to the tune of 22.131 million soums", a statement said.

The materials were transferred to investigating authorities for further consideration.

In the autumn of 2012 Kyrgyzneftegaz bought out shares of the Kyrgyz Petroleum Company CJSC from Petrofac. 85 percent of Kyrgyzneftegaz's shares are state-owned.

The transaction value costs $4.7 million.

Earlier, Kyrgyzneftegaz owned only 50 percent of the company shares. The main asset of the Kyrgyz Petroleum Company is an oil refinery in the Jalal-Abad region with annual capacity of 500,000 tons of oil.
