UNESCO-Sharjah Prize for Arab culture presented in Baku

A promotional event for the UNESCO-Sharjah Prize for Arab culture has been held as part of the 4th World Forum on Intercultural Dialogue in Baku.
Addressing the event, Nada Al-Nashif, UNESCO Assistant Director-General for Social and Human Sciences, said that instituted in 1998, the prize is awarded to those who contribute to the development of Arab culture and arts.
Myriam Chopin, Medievalist at the Haute-Alsace University and President of the “Stratsbourg-Méditerranée” Festival, said winners of the prize are picked by the UNESCO Director General based on recommendations of a jury consisting of international experts.
