Felt Art exhibitions open in Baku

The opening ceremony of the exhibitions "Felt art in modern art" and "Traditional Felt art" was held at the Azerbaijan Carpet Museum on October 25.

The exhibitions were organized as part of the 3rd International Symposium of Common Languages of Turkic World – Patterns under the topic "Intersections in Felt", Azertag reported.

The event brought together talented artists from Azerbaijan, Turkey, Russia, Georgia, Kyrgyzstan, Switzerland, Sweden, Hungary and the United States.

Prior to the opening of the exhibition, director of the Azerbaijan Carpet Museum, Honored Culture Worker Shirin Melikova informed the guests about the symposium.

In her speech, Melikova stressed that felt art is an example of ancient cultural heritage.

She said that a three-day exhibition-fair will be also held in the territory of the Icherisheher State Historical-Architectural Reserve.

Finally, the guests got acquainted with the exhibition.

Notably, the symposium will last until October 27.

The event is co-organized by, the Ministry of Culture and the Azerbaijan Carpet Museum with the support of Azerbaijan National Commission for UNESCO, the Interstate Fund for Humanitarian Cooperation of the CIS Member States (MFGS) and Baku Yunus Emre Institute.
