The 7th edition of the European Film Festival is underway in the capital city of Azerbaijan, presenting the Baku audience a number of great European films.

The French Institute of Azerbaijan and the Embassy of France in Baku will present in partnership with Park Cinema the film "Terra" as part of the Festival on November 10.

The screening will start at 18:00. The co-director of the film, Mr. Michael Pitiot, will be present at the screening.

Directed by Yann Arthus-Bertrand and Michael Pitiot, the film was released in 2015.

TERRA tells the story of life. Yann Arthus Bertrand and Michael Pitiot reveal the incredible saga of our living planet.

From the first lichen to the gigantic forests, monkeys of the jungle to the mythic animals of the savannah. Over barely 10,000 years, life on Earth has been profoundly affected by the incredible development of humanity. But mankind is now increasingly isolated. How have our relations with other living beings changed so much? What do we still see, or notice, of the living world around us?

TERRA is a journey through the history of life forms, a quest for the animal within us. For true humanity.

“We no longer see the wild, we dream of it. It’s an age-old fascination, visible in the paintings of the Chauvet Cave. But this dream is today disappearing, vanishing in factory smoke and industrial smog.”

The European Film Festival has been organized since 2010 and serves to further building and strengthening the cultural links between the countries of the European Union and Azerbaijan, contributing to a better mutual understanding.

The program of this year’s festival includes the screening of films from 19 European Union countries.
