SOCAR named Georgia’s largest investor and taxpayer

Azerbaijan's state oil company SOCAR has been nominated on three positions at a competition held by the Georgian Association of Oil Product Importers and Distributors.

The representatives of the Georgian government and businessmen attended the event dedicated to summarizing the petroleum products sector's results in 2013 on February 14.

SOCAR won in following the nominations: the largest taxpayer of 2013 among oil companies; the largest investor among oil companies; the company involved in the most important social projects.

The amount SOCAR Georgia Petroleum transferred to the state budget of Georgia in 2013 amounts to 129,457,626 GEL. SOCAR has contributed 1,123,824,431 GEL taxes in the state budget of Georgia since 2006.

The official exchange rate of GEL to USD is $1= GEL 1.7301
