Implementation of Internet ports portability proposed in Azerbaijan
Azerbaijan expects another reduction in tariffs of Internet services, Deputy Minister of Communications and Information Technologies Elmir Velizade said on November 8.
This issue is of great importance right now, and work is constantly being carried out in this sphere he continued.
"The issue has been repeatedly discussed with Internet service providers. The implementation of Internet port portability service, which is the same as the portability of mobile phone numbers, is being considered in order to improve the quality of Internet services and the provision for a wide range of choice for users. Work in this direction is currently in the preparatory phase," the deputy minister said.
Velizade noted that work on the liberalization of the broadband Internet development project is scheduled to start soon.
"Over the next three years, this project will contribute to a significant increase in the number of broadband connections and access to services for everyone," the deputy minister said.
