Azerbaijan reduces import of trucks by over 16 percent
Azerbaijan imported 3,035 trucks in January-May 2013, which is by 16.4 percent less than in January-May 2012, the Azerbaijani State Statistics Committee told Trend today.
According to the Committee, the total value of trucks imported into the country during this period was $37.35 million, or 59 percent less than in January-May 2012.
Azerbaijan imported 9,432 trucks last year, or 52.7 percent more than the figure of 2011. The total cost of imported trucks amounted to more than $213.4 million, which is by 45.6 percent more than the figure of 2011.
The country imported 420 buses in January-May 2013, which is 7.5 percent less than in January-May 2012. The total value of imported buses amounted to $19.73 million, or 22.5 percent less than the same period of last year.
In 2012, the country imported 1,038 buses, or 58.5 percent more than in 2011. The total value of imported buses amounted to $49.88 million, which is by 88.1 percent more than in 2011.
