The introduction of local products at international exhibitions and successful organization of export missions to overseas to promote national products under the Made in Azerbaijan brand boost the non-oil sector of the Azerbaijani economy as well as strengthen business ties with foreign countries.

The Sial China 2019 exhibition is being held in the Chinese city of Shanghai on May 14-16.

As many as 12 Azerbaijani companies participate in the exhibition and present their products at the country's single stand "Made in Azerbaijan".

Azerbaijani companies are part of an export mission to China, organized with the support of the Ministry of Economy and Azerbaijan Export and Investment Promotion Foundation (AZPROMO). The mission, covering May 13-18, includes companies engaged in the production of food, wine and other alcoholic beverages.

During the exhibition, Azerbaijani businessmen hold meetings with colleagues from foreign countries, as well as discuss issues on the sale of products.

Sial China is Asia's largest food innovation exhibition. This year, more than 4,300 professional suppliers from 67 countries gathered to present valuable market insights, trends and innovations in 21 food categories.

It should be noted that Ministry of Economy and AZPROMO organized the first export mission of this year to Beijing, China on February 25 – March 1. The mission included 16 Azerbaijani companies operating in the fields of food, wine and other alcoholic drinks.

Introduction of local products of Azerbaijan to international markets boosts the non-oil sector of the economy and strengthens business ties with foreign countries.

Therefore, Azerbaijan organizes a number of export missions to promote national products under the Made in Azerbaijan brand.

Export missions are a supporting measure to identify opportunities for accessing new markets, strengthen local product positions in existing markets and provide these markets with new products.

Launched in 2016, the Made in Azerbaijan brand envisages a large-scale promotion of local non-oil products in foreign markets.

Promotion of export-oriented local products under the Made in Azerbaijan brand in a wider geographic area also helps to attract foreign investment. The export of non-oil products will stimulate the expansion of the production of these products and will further strengthen the non-oil sector's share in the structure of Azerbaijan’s GDP.
